Biblical Context
Proverbs 11:16-17 links outer reputation and wealth to inner virtues: graciousness and mercy protect the self. Cruelty harms the body by disturbing the inner life.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within Neville's view, the woman who is gracious and the man who is merciful are not merely good deeds but states of consciousness. To admire honor and riches is to align with the inner law that all outward forms follow inner feeling. When you insist that you already possess mercy, you place your I AM at the helm, and life begins to reflect that sovereignty. The merciful act does not change the world so much as it changes what you allow yourself to feel and imagine; you are setting a condition in awareness, and conditions in the law of assumption obey. To consider yourself generous is to release a flow of good into your own soul, and in time your surroundings respond with honor and what you call wealth. Cruelty is a self-inflicted wound, for it collapses your inner atmosphere and makes your flesh tremble; the inner man and the outer world are the same sentience when touched by imagination.
Practice This Now
Assume the inner state of graciousness and mercy for 5 minutes, feeling it real. Then revise a memory of a harsh act by mentally replacing it with mercy, until the sensation of inner honor and wealth arises.
