Proverbs 11:12-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Proverbs 11 in context

Scripture Focus

12He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.
13A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
14Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.
Proverbs 11:12-14

Biblical Context

These verses urge inner discretion: true wisdom treats others with gentleness and chooses silence. Gossip and secrets have no place in the wise mind.

Neville's Inner Vision

All three verses reveal the same inner law: the world I call mine is a state of consciousness. To despise my neighbour is to deny the I AM that dwells within me; it shows I am unconsciously divided from my own wisdom. When I understand, I keep my peace, for the I AM in me has no need to prove or attack. The talebearer is the restless chattering mind that spills imagined secrets to confirm fear; to conceal the matter is to keep faith with my inner truth, not by hiding facts from others but by withholding belief in the drama. Without counsel in me, I stumble; with the multitude of counsellors—the inner voices of imagination, intuition, and reason—there is safety, because I am guided by the one Mind. I now revise the inner scene: I assume a state of unity, I feel it real, and the outer world bends to reflect that harmony.

Practice This Now

Imaginatively assume you are the I AM, consulting a council of inner voices; feel the peace now and hold it by speaking only from unity, not from fear or rumor.
