Inner City Prosperity

Proverbs 11:10-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Proverbs 11 in context

Scripture Focus

10When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.
11By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
Proverbs 11:10-11

Biblical Context

The prosperity of the righteous brings joy to the city, while the downfall of the wicked provokes shouting. The upright blesses the city and lifts it up; the wicked’s tongue can overturn it.

Neville's Inner Vision

Proverbs 11:10-11 speaks to the inner city you inhabit. The outward city mirrors your inner state. When you dwell in the state of righteousness, the city rejoices because your I AM aligns with truth. The blessing of the upright is not a reward from without but a momentum born of consistently directing your imagination toward harmony, justice, and peace. The phrase 'the mouth of the wicked' points to self-speech that doubts, condemns, and undermines. The outer scene falls when such speech dominates; it rises when you speak from an awareness of wholeness. This is the law of assumption: you are the lord of your city through the I AM you identify with. Let your inner conviction govern, and the outer city will reflect that rule, exalted by your steadfast, righteous imagination.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: For five minutes, close your eyes and assume, 'The city is exalted by the blessing of the upright.' Feel the joy as if it were already true.
