Biblical Context
Paul invites you to imitate what you have learned and seen in him, so that the God of peace may be with you.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through the inner-eye, these lines do not command outward action but awaken the interior state. The 'things' learned, received, heard, and seen in me are not mere memories; they are steady ways of being in the I AM. When you claim them as yours—assume the feeling that you already embody the quiet, assured presence Paul manifests—you begin to cast the light of peace upon your moment. The 'God of peace' is not a distant him but your own conscious presence, your inner coherence that remains when outer circumstances wobble. To do as he did is to align with that inner decree: let peace be your constant atmosphere, let trust replace agitation, and let your choices be guided by that still center. Your imagination is the instrument; by imagining the state you desire and dwelling there, you invite the God of peace into your ongoing experience. In this sense, obedience becomes not rule-keeping but alignment with your true self—the peace that was with Paul and is with you now.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and recall a moment you felt true peace; revise your current worry with 'I am the peace I seek; the God of peace is with me now,' and let that feeling sink in for a minute.
