Biblical Context
Paul tells us not to worry and to bring every request to God with prayer and thanksgiving. He promises that God's peace will guard our hearts and minds.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this passage, you are invited to relinquish worry and to present every circumstance to the One within as prayer. The command 'be careful for nothing' is not a ban on common sense, but a call to awareness that you are the I AM, the consciousness through which life appears. When you engage 'in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving,' you are not petitioning an external deity, you are shifting your inner state until the feeling of lack dissolves. The 'peace of God' is the fruit of that inner shift—a serene, all-encompassing awareness that nothing stands apart from your true I AM. This peace does not depend on outward conditions; it guards your heart and mind by fixing your attention on Christ Jesus—the Christ within, your highest self. As you abide in that awareness, outer events align with your inner assurance, and what you once called trouble becomes a signal to return to the I AM, where real harmony resides.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly and assume the I AM is present here and now. State your request as already granted with thanksgiving, and feel the peace guarding your heart.
