Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul says he does not seek the gift itself but the fruit that may abound to the giver's account. He speaks of Epaphroditus' gift as a fragrant offering, well-pleasing to God.
Neville's Inner Vision
Imagine the scene as a mirror of your inner economy: not a transaction between two people, but a voluntary alignment of your consciousness with abundance. When you give, you are not enriching someone else apart from you; you are sowing into the treasury of your own awareness. The phrase 'not because I desire a gift, but fruit that may abound to your account' becomes: you are counting the fruit of your generosity in your I AM, and that count grows as you dwell in the feeling of sufficiency. The 'odour of a sweet smell' is the atmosphere your offering creates—a generous mood that is pleasing to the I AM, your own divine self. Outward provision flows from inner worship; the more you feel the fullness you already are, the more the outer supply aligns. The gift is not the cause; it is the sign that your inner state has shifted into abundance. Therefore, revise poverty thoughts and assume you live from the bank of your consciousness, where every act of generosity confirms your true riches.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly, close your eyes, and declare: I am the abundance that flows through me; I give from that fullness until the feeling of sufficiency is real. Then make a small real gesture as if your inner abundance already reigns.
