Inner Credentials Revisited

Philippians 3:5-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Philippians 3 in context

Scripture Focus

5Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
6Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
Philippians 3:5-6

Biblical Context

Paul lists outward credentials—circumcision, Israelite stock, tribe, Hebrew of Hebrews, and zeal for the law—showing conformity to the external 'righteousness' of the law. He also notes a blameless standing under the law, highlighting a contrast between surface credentials and inner truth.

Neville's Inner Vision

Verse 5–6 presents a ledger of credentials, a map of belonging and rule-keeping. Yet the living I AM within me knows outward signs are only appearances. Zeal and the claim of blamelessness by the law arose from a conditioned mind that believes righteousness comes from performance. When I identify with the Self as I AM, I discover that true righteousness is not earned by circumcision, tribe, or zeal but exists as awareness itself. The 'Paul' I name, any self-image, is a temporary identification; the real identity remains constant as the living I AM. As I revise this inner sense, the past labels dissolve and my sense of being expands. I am not defined by outward pedigree; I am defined by the unchanging I AM that is the source of all law-keeping and all life. In this shift, the heart trusts what it cannot see by sight yet knows by inner certainty: the kingdom of righteousness is an inner state, not a list of appearances.

Practice This Now

Assume the feeling: I AM the righteousness here and now; revise your self-story to align with the inner I AM, then quietly dwell in that awareness for a few minutes.
