Heavenly Conversation Within

Philippians 3:20-21 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Philippians 3 in context

Scripture Focus

20For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
21Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
Philippians 3:20-21

Biblical Context

The verse presents our life as a heavenly citizenry awaiting Christ, who will transform our earthly body to resemble His glorious form. The change arises through divine power working in consciousness, not by outward effort.

Neville's Inner Vision

The 'conversation' being in heaven is a state of consciousness you can inhabit now; the Saviour is the I AM within you, the power that can reshape appearances by your assumption. The 'glorious body' signifies a refined, radiantly real pattern of thought and feeling, not merely a physical change. 'According to the working' points to the disciplined use of imagination: you subordinate all appearances to the inner image you hold as true. When you stop arguing with the external world and align with the inner ruler, transformation unfolds as a natural outcome. You are not awaiting a distant event but learning to live from the end, in the conviction that your inner state already bears the likeness of the heavenly form. Thus, your future becomes present, as heaven's cadence vibrates within you and your body gradually follows the inner glory you cultivate.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you are already in your glorious body. Feel the wish fulfilled by dwelling in a scene of transformation until that inner image rules your senses.
