Biblical Context
Paul admits he has not yet attained. He keeps pursuing the purpose Christ has awakened in him, forgetting the past and pressing toward the higher calling.
Neville's Inner Vision
Not as though I have already attained becomes a doorway into the present moment. The 'not yet attained' is not a truth about time; it is your current state of identification. In this moment, you are the I AM, and the movement toward the prize is the movement of your own consciousness toward a clearer reflection of your real nature. When Paul says he presses toward the mark for the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus, he is teaching you to live from the end you desire. Forgetting those things which are behind is the discipline of revision: you stop narrating your old limits and you dwell in the assumed reality of your desired state. Let us mind the same thing: align your inner state so that the outer scene is seen through that unity of mind. The high calling is not a distant event but your present capacity to be fully conscious of your divine identity. Practice feeling as the person already inhabited by that calling, and your world will reflect it.
Practice This Now
In stillness, assume quietly: 'I am already at my high calling in Christ Jesus,' feel the truth in your chest, and carry that feeling into the next hour.
