Receive Him As My Self
Philemon 1:17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul asks Philemon to treat Onesimus as if Paul were present, inviting a deep sense of partnership and unity. The verse anchors reconciliation as a lived inner disposition.
Neville's Inner Vision
On a level of consciousness, the 'partner' in this verse is the I AM recognizing itself in another. To count Paul as a partner is to unify the sense of self and other within the same field of awareness; to 'receive him as myself' is an act of revision, not of changing the man outside. The Neville approach sees imagination as the instrument by which you prove that you already are one with the other. When you hold Onesimus— or any person— as a fellow part of your inner kingdom, you dissolve the memory of separation and invite harmony into your life. The true reception is inner acknowledgment that unity is the foundation, while outward appearances simply reflect that inner reality. Practice this inner alignment, and the outer relationships will naturally reflect the healed sense of partnership you have assumed.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly, assume the feeling of partnership; picture Onesimus standing beside you in your inner space, and say, 'I count you as myself; we are one.' Then stay with that feeling until it feels real.
