Overthrow of Pride Within

Obadiah 1:4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Obadiah 1 in context

Scripture Focus

4Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.
Obadiah 1:4

Biblical Context

The verse declares that pride and exaltation will be brought down. Exaltation here is a state of mind that God addresses within.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the inner sanctuary of your being, the eagle of self-exaltation is the mind's restless flight. When you imagine yourself perched among the stars, you are entertaining a dream of separation from the I AM that dwells in you. Obadiah's warning is not punishment but a reminder that true ascent lies in the consciousness of God as your I AM, not in outer heights. The moment you claim 'I AM' as the sole reality, the imagined ascent loses its grip and returns you to the bedrock of your being. Judgment here is a natural correction of consciousness, not doom—clearing the way for you to rest in the awareness that you already possess all you seek. Thus the prophecy becomes a promise: stop chasing stars and awaken to your rightful estate in God, where humility and power flow as one.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly, revise your self-concept to 'I am the I AM now,' and feel that awareness filling every cell. Let pride fall away as you rest in the truth that you are already complete in God.
