Scripture Focus

17But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.
18And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it.
19And they of the south shall possess the mount of Esau; and they of the plain the Philistines: and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin shall possess Gilead.
20And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the Canaanites, even unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.
21And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD's.
Obadiah 1:17-21

Biblical Context

On Mount Zion there is deliverance and holiness, and the house of Jacob will possess their possessions. The prophecy images a turning of power and territory as saviors arise and the kingdom belongs to the LORD.

Neville's Inner Vision

On Mount Zion, deliverance is not a distant event but a shift of consciousness. Holiness is a state of awareness, a keeping apart from thoughts that limit you, where the house of Jacob possesses its possessions by the conviction that the I AM is your awareness and imagination is the instrument of reality. The house of Jacob becomes a fire and Joseph a flame; this speaks of the merging of will and understanding, while Esau's stubble is burned by the insistence that you are already what you seek. When Esau's power is consumed, the mind gains access to its own fields—south, Philistines, Ephraim, Samaria—internal realms you now possess as faculties and opportunities. The captivity of Israel and Jerusalem becoming possessors of the south shows that even past bondage can be redeemed by awareness that the kingdom belongs to the LORD. Saviors rise on Mount Zion—the new states of consciousness that judge the old. The kingdom is the LORD's, which is to say: your I AM rules, and your life follows the image you hold.

Practice This Now

Assume you are already deliverance on Mount Zion; feel holiness as a clear awareness and revise any sense of lack. Imagine, right now, you possess the inner riches and faculties you seek, and let your life reflect the kingdom that is yours by the I AM.
