Obadiah 1:1-2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Biblical Context
Obadiah proclaims that Edom will be humbled and despised; judgment is pronounced. The inner takeaway is that pride and outward power are superseded by the true authority of the I AM within.
Neville's Inner Vision
View Obadiah's vision as a map of your inner state. Edom stands for the stubborn ego—pride, separateness, and the habit of judging life by outer appearances. The line about a rumour from the LORD and an ambassador among the heathen becomes the inner movement of circumstance that invites awakening, not punishment. 'Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle' is your invitation to challenge the old story with the light of awareness rather than force. 'Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen' means the sense of importance is dissolved by the recognition that the I AM within is all power. As that inner sense of self is made small, the true self—God within—rises in quiet sovereignty. The vision thus marries judgment with promise: the kingdom of God is within, and the outer conflicts reflect your inner choice. By returning to the I AM, you reverse the dream of separation and invite a present, felt dominion where fear yields to wholeness.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state 'I AM within me now.' Revise the old Edom story, letting the ego shrink and the inner king rise, until you feel the kingdom within you as present reality.
