Read Numbers 8 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verses command a cleansing rite for the Levites: sprinkling water of purification on them, shaving all their flesh, washing their clothes, and thereby making them clean. It is a ritual procedure intended to set apart the Levites from the other Israelites.
Neville's Inner Vision
Numbers 8:6-7 presents a cleansing rite, yet in the Neville Goddard keynote it is not about dirt at all but the cleansing of states of consciousness. The Levites symbolize faculties of devotion set apart to serve the higher I AM within you. Sprinkling water of purification upon them is the awakening of awareness; a light spray that dissolves fear, habit, and disbelief, revealing a clearer sense of self. Let them shave all their flesh, and wash their clothes, and thus become clean: this is the inner shedding of old identifications—your attachments to the 'old man' that says you are unfinished or unworthy. The flesh represents the body of consciousness tied to limitation; shaving it means you part with those habitual skins. Washing the clothes is renewing the mental garments with fresh meanings, so your mind is dressed in possibility rather than doubt. The act is symbolic, but the mechanism is real: you enter a state of consciousness where you accept, right now, that you are clean. The I AM—your present awareness—performs this purification when you imagine it with feeling.
Practice This Now
Assume you are already purified. Visualize the water of purification sprinkling over you, shaving away old beliefs, and washing your mind’s clothes until you feel renewed.
