The Inner Nazarite Vow

Numbers 6:2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Numbers 6 in context

Scripture Focus

2Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the LORD:
Numbers 6:2

Biblical Context

Numbers 6:2 directs individuals to declare a vow of separation, dedicating themselves to the LORD as a Nazarite. It emphasizes voluntary commitment and purity of purpose.

Neville's Inner Vision

That which stands behind the letter is the life principle: you are the I AM, and the vow is a decision of your consciousness to set up a boundary against conflicting thoughts until your desired state becomes natural. When the text says 'to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the LORD,' it is telling you to separate your attention from ordinary, distracting impulses and align with a goal you will live from the end of its fulfillment. The Nazarite's outward signs are pictures of inner discipline: abstinence, consecration. In your practice, you replace those outward signs with inner acts: you suspend the voice of limitation, you keep attention on the feeling of the wish fulfilled, and you treat yourself as already in the state you seek. The 'LORD' is not distant; it is your own higher self, the I AM that you awaken by imagination. By renewing the state in imagination and holding to it with faithfulness, you confirm the covenant of your desire and become obedient to its fulfillment.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare, 'I am separated unto the LORD.' Then imagine walking through your day already living in that holy state, with unwavering focus on your fulfilled desire.
