Recompense to the LORD Within

Numbers 5:8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Numbers 5 in context

Scripture Focus

8But if the man have no kinsman to recompense the trespass unto, let the trespass be recompensed unto the LORD, even to the priest; beside the ram of the atonement, whereby an atonement shall be made for him.
Numbers 5:8

Biblical Context

Numbers 5:8 says that if there is no kinsman to recompense the trespass, the offense is repaid to the LORD, through the priest, with the ram of atonement.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within you the verse declares that a disturbance in your harmony with the divine order must be settled not by guilt alone, but by a turning of imagination to the I AM. The trespass is not punished from outside; it is an invitation to restore inner alignment. The priest is your inner attention—the state through which you offer reparation to the LORD, the I AM—by recognizing the offense and presenting the ram of atonement as the symbolic act of feeling it real that you are already forgiven and whole. When you accept this, you shift from a sense of separation to a sense of oneness; you do not seek external atonement, you revise the inner scene until the memory of lack dissolves. The ram of the atonement stands for the mental action that cleanses the memory and re-centers your consciousness in the reality that you are the I AM, and this is how forgiveness and reconciliation arise in your life.

Practice This Now

Assume the inner repayment has occurred; feel the relief as you inhabit the state of wholeness today.
