Cleansing the Inner Camp

Numbers 5:1-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Numbers 5 in context

Scripture Focus

1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and every one that hath an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the dead:
3Both male and female shall ye put out, without the camp shall ye put them; that they defile not their camps, in the midst whereof I dwell.
4And the children of Israel did so, and put them out without the camp: as the LORD spake unto Moses, so did the children of Israel.
Numbers 5:1-4

Biblical Context

Numbers 5:1-4 commands removing the defiled from the camp so the Lord’s dwelling remains untainted; the act expresses holiness through separation.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of the 'camp' as my inner state, the people within as my beliefs and habits; leprosy, discharges, and defilement by death are symbols for persistent false stories that seize my present awareness. The command to put them outside the camp shows I can choose to separate those beliefs from my center of I AM, so God may dwell in the midst of my consciousness. The dwelling place is the living I AM; impurity is the belief that I am not God, that some past image still defines me. By acting on the command I practice the art of revision: remove outworn pictures, set a boundary, and return to the center untouched by error. As I imagine my mind purified, I align with the truth that I AM, and the Divine presence fills my inner camp.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and command the inner camp to cast out old defilements. Then feel the I AM dwelling in the center, purified and all-encompassing.
