Biblical Context
Blood defiles the land, and the land cannot be cleansed except by the blood of the one who shed it. The LORD dwells in the midst of Israel, making the land sacred.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of the land as your present state of consciousness. When you harbor grievance, envy, or desire for vengeance—when you simulate the act of blame—you pollute the inner soil. The verse's 'blood' is the lifeblood of your thoughts and memories; when it is shed in anger, fear, or judgment, your atmosphere becomes heavy and unfit for the Presence to dwell. Yet the claim that the land is cleansed by the blood of the one who shed it reveals a deep law: cleansing comes not from another's penalty, but from your own awakening. By turning your attention from externals to the I AM within, you allow the living energy of awareness to wash the soil; forgiveness and responsibility become the stream that heals. When you imagine that God dwells in your consciousness, you are free to revise the scene: you declare that you are the land and the I AM is the river that makes all defilement disappear. In that consciousness, the 'presence' becomes tangible, and your world aligns with holiness.
Practice This Now
Assume: I AM the land, undefiled. Breathe deeply and visualize the lifeblood of your thoughts flowing as a clear stream washing every inch of inner soil, while the Presence within you dwells as the cleansing source.
