Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Numbers 35:13-15 designates six cities of refuge to protect anyone who kills unintentionally, three on each side of Jordan, for Israelites, strangers, and sojourners alike.
Neville's Inner Vision
Numbers 35:13-15 reveals six cities of refuge as inner sanctuaries, not external walls. They show that safety does not depend on dogma or punishment but on the consciousness you claim now. The unawares—moments when you feel driven to harm, fear, or retaliate—are invited to flee to the sanctuary within your own I AM. Three cities on this side Jordan and three within the land of Canaan symbolize the crossing from old identity to a new alignment with your inner peace. When you dwell in that inner refuge, mercy and justice cease to be opposed forces; they unite as a graceful state of awareness that respects life and chooses compassionate, fearless action. The stranger and the sojourner become aspects of your own being you welcome home, and the sanctuary expands to cover all expressions of life. Thus, the law becomes a law of consciousness: there is a sanctuary for all who are willing to realize it within.
Practice This Now
Assume you are already within the six inner cities—your I AM is the walls and witness. Feel safety, mercy, and right action surrounding you now.
