Biblical Context
Moses allocated land to Gad, Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh—the land of Sihon and Og—with cities nearby; the Gadites then built Dibon, Ataroth, and Aroer.
Neville's Inner Vision
Numbers 32:33-34 speaks not of land in a map but of the inner kingdom you awaken by faith. Gad, Reuben, and half-Manasseh are states of consciousness within me—qualities I nurture, secure, and expand through attention. The land allotted—Sihon's and Og's kingdoms—symbolizes the disciplined powers of my mind I now claim and redeem through covenant loyalty. The cities described—Dibon, Ataroth, and Aroer—are the faculties of perception, action, and relationship that I order and make ready for use. When Moses speaks of this territory, he is affirming that my inner life has a real geography; what I imagine and affirm becomes the landscape I inhabit. By building those inner cities, I practice stewardship: I establish balance, unity, and faithful care of my gifts. The result is not division but unity—these parts of me joined in a single kingdom under the I AM, sharing a common loyalty to the divine purpose I am awakening within.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you already possess the promised inner land: declare 'I am the steward of my inner kingdom.' Feel the sense of unity and place, and imagine yourself building one sure, generous city within your life today.
