Inner Cleansing by Imagination
Numbers 31:17-18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verses describe a division after conflict, instructing the killing of some and sparing others. Taken spiritually, the text can be read as a parable about judgment within the psyche.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the seeker, Numbers 31:17-18 becomes a doorway into the psyche, not a battlefield among nations. The 'little ones' and the 'women who have known a man' are not persons to be judged, but states of consciousness that have grown strong by attention and habit. The command to 'kill' them is the myth of one who would end the identified problems by force; in truth it invites you to refuse to feed those thoughts any longer - to withdraw belief in their reality until they dissolve. The 'women children, that have not known a man' symbolize pristine possibilities, undiminished by prior engagement with fear or desire; keep these alive for yourselves means to preserve the raw energy of imagination and to cultivate it into the new form you wish to awaken. Your true captives are the old identities you accept as real; your awakenings are the newborn faculties you nurture with imagination and the I AM. The outer narrative is the inner drama: victory comes as you align your inner state with the certainty of already having what you seek.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes, assume the feeling that old fears and habits are dissolved, and that virgin possibilities within you are awakening. Let the I AM anchor the new state and imagine nurturing those seeds into tangible reality.
