Joshua embodies a new state of consciousness you are awakening within you. Moses is the faithful instrument by which the I AM—your awareness—transfers a charge to the growing leader within. When Moses sets Joshua before Eleazar the priest and the congregation, your inner priestly mind and the court of your thoughts watch the moment of commissioning. The laying on of hands is not physical touch but the deliberate impressing of a defined state upon a newer you. The charge he gave, 'as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses,' is the affirmation that this inner authority arises from a Law greater than fear or doubt—an inner directive handed through your own imagination. In Neville’s terms, you are not acting to gain something but becoming it. The present 'you' must consent to the new office, then feel the assurance and responsibility as if it is core to your being. The effect is a realignment: the old self steps aside and the new leadership speaks through every choice.
