The Inner Shepherd Principle

Numbers 27:15-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Numbers 27 in context

Scripture Focus

15And Moses spake unto the LORD, saying,
16Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation,
17Which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the LORD be not as sheep which have no shepherd.
Numbers 27:15-17

Biblical Context

Moses pleads for a leader over the people to guide them, lest they wander like sheep without a shepherd.

Neville's Inner Vision

Moses’ plea reveals that the 'congregation' is a state of consciousness seeking a steadfast inner shepherd. The 'God of the spirits of all flesh' is the I AM that animates every thought and circumstance. To appoint a leader is to establish a fixed, guiding state within your mind—one that goes outward and inward, leading you through every choice. When you imagine such a shepherd, you are not invoking a person in time but aligning with a vigilant, discerning consciousness that directs your actions and reveals the path through every situation. The fear of being without guidance dissolves when you dwell in the certainty that the I AM is shepherd and pathway, and that your daily decisions flow from that inner governance. This is an invitation to revision: assume the state of being guided, and observe the outer world reorganize to reflect that inner orientation.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare, I AM the shepherd of my life; then imagine a wise inner guide going before you and bringing you safely through the day, as if this reality already is.
