Inner Water of Rebellion

Numbers 27:14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Numbers 27 in context

Scripture Focus

14For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the water before their eyes: that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.
Numbers 27:14

Biblical Context

Numbers 27:14 recalls Israel's rebellion at Meribah, testing God's command and sanctity by demanding water. It marks how external circumstances reveal inner distrust.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the desert of the mind, the Zin of thought, rebellion is a choice to resist the inner commandment by seeking relief in outward appearances. Water stands for living awareness ready to flow from your imagination when you align with the I AM. To sanctify God at the water before the eyes of others is to prove Him by external signs, a performance that betrays faith in the unseen. The commandment is your inner assumption about who you are and what's possible; the desert is your present vantage point; the sacred water is the awareness you are, and the power you possess. When you rebel, you invert the flow, but you can revise by returning to the inner fact of being: I AM, and I am the cause of all you behold. The Meribah moment dissolves as you shift from object to subject, from fear to faith.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, recall the Meribah impulse, and revise it by assuming, 'I am the I AM; I have all I need from within.' Feel the river of life flowing through you now.
