Biblical Context
Moses is told to ascend Mount Abarim to glimpse the land promised to Israel. After seeing it, he will be gathered to his people, as Aaron was, for the people had rebelled at Meribah.
Neville's Inner Vision
On the surface this text speaks of place, time, and rebellion; the inner reading reveals the movement of consciousness. The mount Abarim is your ascent of awareness; the land you see is the state of consciousness already given by God—the I AM recognizing yourself as the possessor of your spiritual inheritance. The command to move and the act of seeing are your inner decree; rebellion at Meribah symbolizes doubt and conflict within your being that resist the natural flow of harmony. When you observe the land, you are not petitioning a distant God; you are convincing your own awareness that the promised good is already yours, that your life is sanctified by obedience to your inner law. Moses's death is the shedding of the limited self, the end of the old story as you graduate to the next stage of your inner kingdom. The water of Meribah is the restless emotional water you calm by repeating the I AM and by acting in alignment with it. The commandment is not external law but inner alignment with your divine nature.
Practice This Now
Assume the land is already mine. Feel it real by stating 'I AM the land' while breathing deeply, seeing the mount and the land within.
