Valiant Israel Within

Numbers 24:18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Numbers 24 in context

Scripture Focus

18And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly.
Numbers 24:18

Biblical Context

The verse speaks of Edom and Seir becoming the possession of enemies, while Israel acts with valor; interpreted as inner dispositions and the victorious self within.

Neville's Inner Vision

In Neville’s style, Edom and Seir symbolize stubborn inner states—resistance, fear, or closed-mindedness. Their being “a possession for his enemies” reflects moments when outer circumstances seem to take control due to an unawakened state of consciousness. Israel represents the inner I AM, the awakened self that can prevail by imagination. To “do valiantly” is a present capability of the I AM when you assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled: you align your inner scenery so that what you once called obstacles are merely images under your command. You do not wage war against conditions; you revise your state of mind until Edom and Seir are seen as conquered possessions of your own inner power. When you dwell in the I AM, the outer world naturally rearranges to reflect that inner dominion. Your imagination becomes the instrument by which apparent enemies become mere props in a drama you willingly rewrite from within.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and assume: I am Israel, the valiant I AM. See Edom and Seir as conquered by my inner command; repeat, I am the I AM, and I conquer all opposition, feeling this truth now.
