Biblical Context
Balak wants Balaam to curse his enemies, but Balaam blesses them instead three times. Balak is commanded to depart because the LORD has kept Balaam from honor.
Neville's Inner Vision
Notice that Balak’s anger and the physical gesture of striking the hands are but outward expressions of an inner agitation—fear of loss, hunger for honor, the need to control results. Balaam’s blessing is not a miracle imposed from above, but the I AM reframing the scene: when you dwell in the awareness that you are the sent one of your own inner God, your mouth speaks blessing rather than curse. The outer plan to curse the enemies fails because the inner consciousness refuses to condemn. The LORD keeping Balaam back from honor is the Inner Governor keeping the ego from confusing opportunity with validation. In Neville’s terms, the true victory is in the state you occupy, not the external accolade; the external world merely mirrors your inner alignment. When you choose to bless—align with the I AM—you discover that Providence has already ordained your rise, even if the form of honor appears thwarted in the moment. The 'curse' dissolves into a blessing because the inner king reigns.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit in stillness and feel the I AM honoring you now, regardless of outward opinion. Then revise any urge to condemn—bless your 'enemies' or obstacles and allow inner Providence to reorder your results.
