The Inner Path Of Balaam
Numbers 22:22-30 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Numbers 22 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Balaam travels with his donkey; the angel of the LORD blocks the way, the donkey perceives the divine intervention, Balaam beats the animal, and the inner truth is revealed when the donkey speaks.
Neville's Inner Vision
That scene is a violet lamp for inner life. The angel is the inner guard of awareness who blocks the ego's external drive. The ass is your faithful instrument, your subconscious mind, which can see what your ordinary sight cannot. Balaam's anger is the ego resisting correction, and the donkey's speaking is the inner mind finally uttering guidance through your own vehicle of perception. The narrow place shows the crisis becomes a doorway: you must revise inside, surrender force, and align with the I AM. When you do, the journey proceeds not by struggle but by the clarity that comes when the divine direction speaks through your instrument.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: In stillness, revise your current aim to 'I am guided by the I AM; my path is clear to my inner sight.' Feel the belief as if the inner voice is speaking through you.
