Numbers 21:4-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Numbers 21 in context

Scripture Focus

4And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.
5And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.
Numbers 21:4-5

Biblical Context

From mount Hor they journeyed and grew greatly discouraged by the way. They complained there was no bread or water and questioned God and Moses about bringing them into the wilderness to die.

Neville's Inner Vision

In Numbers 21:4-5 the journey is a state of consciousness; the soul's discouragement is a belief in lack. The complaint against God and Moses is the mind resisting its true possibilities. The manna—the light bread—represents daily spiritual provision that is often loathed when one believes in scarcity. To reinterpret this scene, recognize that you are the I AM, the awareness that births reality. The wilderness becomes a classroom where you can revise your inner state by assuming the end: you are already supplied and supported. When you revise, you stop identifying with lack and begin to feel the end as real now, allowing the sense of abundance to replace fear. Providence is your attention turned toward the fulfilled state within you, and your inner movements align with it as you dwell in gratitude, presence, and trust.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and revise the scene by declaring I am supplied; feel the presence of abundance now, tasting the bread of life in this moment.
