Biblical Context
Moses and Aaron seek the LORD’s presence, and the Glory appears. God commands them to speak to the rock before the assembly to bring forth water for the people and their beasts.
Neville's Inner Vision
From Neville's vantage, the scene is an inner drama, not a desert march. The assembly is your waking attention; the rock is a fixed belief you cling to. When the LORD tells Moses to speak to the rock, imagine that your dominant thought—your present state of consciousness—must speak itself into form. The glory appearing is the moment your awareness turns to the I AM, the unconditioned presence that you truly are. The rod stands for outward effort, yet the water pours not from the rod but from the state you declare. Speak to the rock before the eyes of your fear as if the water already exists within you; your words are not petitions but declarations of the state you inhabit. The water that issues forth is the footprint of your inner decision becoming form. Stay in the feeling of the wish fulfilled; repeat, 'I AM the water now flowing,' and feel the stream renewing you through the day. The command is a practical technique: revise your assumption until the appearance shifts to fullness.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and descend into the inner scene; imagine yourself at the rock, affirming 'I AM the water now flowing' as if it already exists. Feel the relief and gratitude as your inner state manifests into the day.
