The verse instructs offering the best of all gifts as holy, reserving the finest portion as sacred.
Neville's Inner Vision
All the gifts of your day are not external objects but the movements of your consciousness. To offer the best of your gifts is to decide, in the quiet of your present, that the most revealing part of you belongs to the I AM within. The 'heave offering' becomes a symbolic lifting of your better thoughts, your nobler desires, your integrity and holy attention above habit and fear. When you dwell in the awareness that you are the one who creates by believing, you naturally give the 'best' because you know the best is already you. The holy portion is not earned; it is acknowledged as your true condition here and now. Your attention, your gratitude, your discipline—is all offered as sacrament to your own divine nature, and as you accept it as already real, life rearranges itself to reflect that inner state. The verse is thus a call to revise your assumptions: see yourself as already gracious, whole, and pure, and watch the outer world conform to that inner image.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, assume the posture of the inner altar, and mentally offer the best of your gifts to the I AM. Feel the sense of wholeness and let it settle in as your present reality.
