The Inner Offering Principle

Numbers 18:25-32 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Numbers 18 in context

Scripture Focus

25And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
26Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe.
27And this your heave offering shall be reckoned unto you, as though it were the corn of the threshingfloor, and as the fulness of the winepress.
28Thus ye also shall offer an heave offering unto the LORD of all your tithes, which ye receive of the children of Israel; and ye shall give thereof the LORD's heave offering to Aaron the priest.
29Out of all your gifts ye shall offer every heave offering of the LORD, of all the best thereof, even the hallowed part thereof out of it.
30Therefore thou shalt say unto them, When ye have heaved the best thereof from it, then it shall be counted unto the Levites as the increase of the threshingfloor, and as the increase of the winepress.
31And ye shall eat it in every place, ye and your households: for it is your reward for your service in the tabernacle of the congregation.
32And ye shall bear no sin by reason of it, when ye have heaved from it the best of it: neither shall ye pollute the holy things of the children of Israel, lest ye die.
Numbers 18:25-32

Biblical Context

Thus the LORD instructs the Levites to accept tithes and offer the best portion as a heave offering to the LORD. When they do so, the offering is counted as the increase of their labor, and they are to eat it without sin as their reward for service.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this passage the Levites represent the conscious faculties that attend to the divine within. The tithes symbolize thoughts and feelings claimed as part of your life, and the heave offering—a tenth of the tithe—becomes the rising decision to consecrate the best of those thoughts and feelings to the I AM. When you offer the best thereof, it is counted unto you as the increase of your inner threshing floor and the abundance of your inner winepress, the multiplication of your state of consciousness. You may partake of it in every place, for it is your reward for service in the tabernacle—the ongoing manifestation of inner work. There is no sin in this act when performed with reverence; you are not polluting holy things but elevating them. The teaching is that aligning with your best, offered consistently to the I AM within, expands experience and secures the temple of your consciousness in abundance.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly and declare that you offer the best of your thoughts and feelings to the I AM within now. Then feel the inner temple fill with light and the sense of abundance as your consciousness accounts it as increase.
