Moses collects twelve rods representing the princes; Aaron's rod buds and blossoms, proving his priestly authority in the tabernacle.
Neville's Inner Vision
I see in Numbers 17:6-8 a vivid teaching of the interior sign. The twelve rods stand for the twelve faculties or states of consciousness we carry within. The tabernacle of witness is the inner sanctuary where the I AM—God within—dwells and judges allegiance. Aaron’s rod, chosen among the rods, represents the inner ruling principle that has become loyal to the covenant. When I align with the Presence, that inner principle buds: it begins to grow, flower, and bear fruit in my life as confidence, order, and reliable conduct. The message is not about a physically miraculous staff but about inner confirmation: the sign appears when I reject confusion and insist that God governs my thoughts and actions. The sign is my inner felt certainty that the preferred state is established; it is the experiential proof that the covenant is intact. Each day I revisit the scene in imagination, laying all my faculties before the I AM and inviting the chosen one to manifest, knowing the other faculties will follow in proper alignment. In that moment, the tabernacle of witness becomes my living mind, and life itself testifies to the inner election.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and lay twelve inner faculties on the altar of your awareness; envision Aaron's rod among them, then watch it bud, blossom, and yield almonds. Stay with the feeling of the sign until it feels real.
