Biblical Context
Korah and his company are told to bring censers with fire and incense before the Lord, and the Lord will designate the holy one. The scene exposes the ego’s hunger for status and the path to true worship that arises from alignment with the inner Lord.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through the I AM, the scene is not about metal or revolt but a state you carry in the shrine of your mind. Korah’s claim mirrors the ego’s insistence that holiness comes by rank; the censer symbolizes where you cast your attention, and the fire and incense stand for the thoughts you keep feeding. When the Lord says, 'he shall be holy,' He speaks as your deeper self—the I AM that chooses what your consciousness calls holy. The test reveals which inner movement has authority in you: if you cling to external status or judge others, you are lighting the censer with ego. If you release attachment to names and listen for the quiet I AM, you discover the holy one within. Allow the inner Lord to choose, and your awareness aligns; what follows outwardly will reflect that alignment, not the ego’s pride.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine a censer burning in your mind, its fire the concentrated attention and its incense your rising faith. Say softly, 'I am holy because of the I AM within me,' and feel the ego relax as you dwell in that state.
