Ascending Beyond the Wilderness Within

Numbers 16:12-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Numbers 16 in context

Scripture Focus

12And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab: which said, We will not come up:
13Is it a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land that floweth with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, except thou make thyself altogether a prince over us?
14Moreover thou hast not brought us into a land that floweth with milk and honey, or given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come up.
Numbers 16:12-14

Biblical Context

Dathan and Abiram refuse to come up, challenging Moses' leadership and claiming that the promised land should be theirs; their rebuke reveals a mindset fixed in fear and entitlement rather than trust.

Neville's Inner Vision

Take the moment of Numbers 16:12-14 as your inner weather report. Dathan and Abiram are not separate men; they are states of consciousness that refuse the ascent of awareness. Moses is the call of the I AM, inviting you to rise from the desert of scarcity into the land that flows with milk and honey—the inner kingdom of sure supply, harmony, and purpose. When the ego shouts, 'We will not come up,' it is the old self insisting on its own rule, resisting the rising imagination that alone can form reality. Their charge that you have not brought them into abundance is projection: your present lack is not out there, but a belief that you are not yet loved, guided, or supported by your higher self. The line 'wilt thou put out the eyes of these men?' is your fear of seeing truth; yet your true eye is the I AM, which sees from the summit. The wilderness is the classroom, not a punishment; ascent is possible whenever you forgive the ego and consent to be governed by imagination.

Practice This Now

Assume the state: I AM, I ascend now. Feel the rise as abundance surrounds you and you overlook the wilderness from a higher vantage.
