Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Moses tells God that the Egyptians will hear of the deliverance, and that the people are known as God’s presence among them, seen face to face with a guiding cloud by day and fire by night.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within Numbers 14:13-14, the outer scene of Moses arguing with God becomes a rehearsal of your inner life. The Egyptians and the inhabitants of the land symbolize the voices of memory and prognosis that would have you believe you are separated from the Power that leads you. Yet the text declares that the Lord is among this people, that you are seeing God Face to face, and that a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night go before you. In Neville's terms, God is not a distant deity but the I AM you awaken to in consciousness. When you entertain the firm conviction that the Power that brought you thus far is present now as your own awareness, you dissolve the sense of distance and time. The seen and unseen align as you revise the old tale of lack, and your life becomes a continuous procession of guidance, safety, and direction, since your imagination is the true pillar and fire that leads you through daily experience.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume I AM is present as your life now. Feel the guiding cloud by day and fire by night in your chest and let this inner visitation inform your next moment.
