Numbers 13:29 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Numbers 13 in context

Scripture Focus

29The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.
Numbers 13:29

Biblical Context

It simply names the tribes occupying different regions of the land. The point is not the politics but how you perceive your own inner territory.

Neville's Inner Vision

Numbers 13:29 presents a map of the land that exists inside your mind. Amalekites dwell in the land of the south, Hittites and Jebusites and Amorites in the mountains, Canaanites by the sea and by Jordan; these are not distant peoples but inner dispositions. Amalek represents aggressive fear and instinctive resistance; the mountain tribes symbolize rigid judgments and pride; the Canaanites by the sea and Jordan symbolize longing and boundary-making in your desires. The spies’ fear speaks to your tendency to size up conditions rather than acknowledge that your I AM governs all. The Promised Land is not a distant conquest but the feeling of your wish fulfilled and the awareness that God within you already dwells there. By recognizing these tribes as parts of your own consciousness, you can revise your inner weather: declare that you have conquered them, that the land is yours here and now, and feel the settled peace that comes with it. When you inhabit that inner kingly state, the external landscape adjusts to reflect your inner decree.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and step into the promised land inside you. Acknowledge each inner tribe as a state you have mastered, and feel the land as your present reality.
