Numbers 11:18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Numbers 11 in context

Scripture Focus

18And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore the LORD will give you flesh, and ye shall eat.
Numbers 11:18

Biblical Context

In Numbers 11:18, God instructs the people to sanctify themselves so they may receive meat, highlighting how inner dissatisfaction and longing for Egypt shape their outer outcomes.

Neville's Inner Vision

To sanctify yourself is to consecrate your entire attention to the I AM that you are, not through outward ritual but by changing your inner state. The people’s weeping and memory of Egypt symbolize a persistent belief in lack; they expect God to supply from an external source according to their need. Yet the inner order is that supply flows from the state of consciousness you inhabit. When you choose to sanctify, you refuse to feed the old tale of bondage and you align with the truth that you are already complete. The “flesh” they will eat is a symbol of tangible fulfillment arising from within—health, nourishment, ease—as you hold the assumption of the wish fulfilled. Your inner voice: the Lord within you supplies according to your present state. So the invitation is practical: dwell in a perfected sense of being, and let the outer world adjust to your inner truth. The I AM is the continuous cause; your imagining is the effect that proves it.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, assume the feeling of being already fed and whole, repeat 'I am' in the present, and rest in the vivid sensation of abundance until it fills your awareness.
