Biblical Context
God commands Moses to gather seventy elders so they may stand with him; He will transfer part of the Spirit from Moses to them, so they share the burden of leadership rather than Moses bearing it alone.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider this as a psychological shift, not a geographic arrangement. The story reveals that the one I AM—your essential awareness—can expand itself by distributing its energy to other states of consciousness. Moses stands as the focal point of leadership, a symbol of a deep, central I AM that holds the burden. When He says, I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them, He points to a simple inner law: the power you recognize in yourself can be extended to others as an inner resource, a shared authority that lightens your personal show of burdens. The tabernacle is never a temple of buildings alone; it is the sanctuary within your imagination where you commune with the divine I AM. When you gather the seventy elders, you gather distinct dispositions—wisdom, discernment, stewardship, unity—inside the self and invite them to stand with you. As you imagine this transfer, you feel the burden lifting, for you are no longer carrying the people’s needs alone; your inner circle collaborates with you in the act of creation. Practice: affirm that the Spirit I AM now rests upon a circle of inner states; feel them bearing responsibility with you.
Practice This Now
Imaginative_act: In your imagination, gather seven inner states and declare that the Spirit is distributed among them. Feel the burden lift as each takes up its share with you.
