Numbers 11:11-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Numbers 11 in context

Scripture Focus

11And Moses said unto the LORD, Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy servant? and wherefore have I not found favour in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me?
12Have I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father beareth the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?
Numbers 11:11-12

Biblical Context

Moses questions why God has afflicted him with the burden of leading the people; he describes bearing all the people as a heavy, parental task.

Neville's Inner Vision

You are not interpreting Moses as a distant historical figure but as an inner states-are-consciousness allegory. The burden he bears represents the belief that you must manage and sustain every created circumstance through force of will. The 'favor' and 'afliction' hinge on your awareness; what you call providence is your inner I AM attending to the states you have imagined as real. The questions, Have I conceived all this people? and Have I begotten them? point to your role as the creator who has projected these states into experience. To be carried 'in thy bosom' is to be held by the nursing father within—the I AM—nourishing your creations through unwavering attention until the land promised to your fathers is realized as present fact. When you revise the scene to see that you are the guardian, carrier, and sponsor of these states, the weight dissolves. The land you seek is not somewhere over there; it is the fulfilled state you already stand in when you rest in the Father’s care.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and revise the scene: I am the nursing father within, carrying these states in the I AM. Feel the burden lift as the land rise.
