Moses Within: The Inner Burden
Numbers 11:10-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Numbers 11 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Moses hears the people weep; the LORD's anger is kindled; Moses questions why he bears the burden of the people. The passage spots leadership as an inner struggle with responsibility and favor.
Neville's Inner Vision
Note that the 'people' who weep are not external crowds but the multiplying thoughts and fears your mind produces. The 'anger of the LORD' is the stir of your own belief that you must suffer for the many mis-creations of your inner world. Moses is your higher self, the I AM within, who feels the weight of leadership when you identify with conditioned states. His complaint, 'Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy servant?' is your inner dialogue of resistance to the image you have already accepted. To heal, return to the consciousness that you are unfailingly favored by the I AM, and that you are not compelled to bear every thought of sin or burden. By refusing to identify with the density, you align with the inner undisturbed ruler, and the burden dissolves as you realize that all experiences are a projection of your inner state. The moment you assume the feeling 'I am favored' and 'I AM guides me,' you rewrite the scene from complaint to mastery, and the inner camp rests in grace.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, assume right now that you are favored by the I AM; feel the relief as you place the burden at the door of your inner tent and let it dissolve.
