Numbers 1:2-3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Numbers 1 in context

Scripture Focus

2Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls;
3From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies.
Numbers 1:2-3

Biblical Context

The verses describe taking an organized census of the people, counting each male 20 and older in preparation for war, under Moses and Aaron.

Neville's Inner Vision

Suppose that this census is not of bodies but of states of consciousness. The congregation is your inner community, the many facets of your being, and the names are the identities you presently assign to them. The call to count from twenty years old upward signals you to acknowledge the matured faculties ready to act on your desire. The line 'thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies' invites you to see the I AM as both the center of awareness and the inner guide, Moses and Aaron within you, tallying the powers you intend to deploy. When you dwell on this, you realize you are not measuring an external nation but auditing your own inner governance. Each counted man corresponds to a faculty aligned with your aim; those not aligned drop from the count. The act of counting is a revision of self-identity, a decision that your present state is already the victorious state. In imagination, you form a disciplined army of consciousness under the banner of I AM, and the kingdom arises first within, then expresses itself outwardly.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and imagine counting your inner faculties as an army under your I AM. Decide which powers will march toward your goal, and feel that the reality you seek is already established in you right now.
