The line 'the number of the men of the people of Israel was this' is a measurement you apply to your own life: you count the inhabitants you reserve for the work of renewal when you decide that the covenant is yours now. The return from Babylon becomes your return to identity; it is you declaring, 'I am coming back to myself, I am the ruler of my inner city.' In this reading, God is not out there but the I AM within, and imagination is the instrument by which you rebuild walls of limitation into corridors of possibility. So, when you feel doubt, recall that the names are already present as you imagine them, and the numbers rise as your faith becomes settled. Reality follows the state you assume, and the future emerges in the present moment.
