Inner Register and Priesthood

Nehemiah 7:64 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Nehemiah 7 in context

Scripture Focus

64These sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but it was not found: therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood.
Nehemiah 7:64

Biblical Context

Those unable to prove their genealogical register were deemed polluted and excluded from the priesthood. Neville would read this as a metaphor for inner records, where your true priesthood rests in the I AM, not on external lists.

Neville's Inner Vision

The line about genealogy speaks to your inner life. The register is not a parchment kept by priests but a state of consciousness you inhabit. When you believe you lack proof or that you are 'polluted,' you act as if the I AM is distant from you. Yet priesthood is not conferred by a roll; it is your natural condition when you acknowledge the I AM as your only reality. The moment you refuse the claim of exclusion and revise it, that external record dissolves into light. The inner ledger is updated by imagination, not by outward lists, and you are summoned back to the presence you are. So you may claim now that you are readmitted, because the I AM—your comprehensive self—extends to you. The appearance of a lack is a belief to be corrected by a new assumption. Do not seek approval from without; awaken to the truth that you are the I AM, and therefore you belong to the priesthood in this moment.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and revise the belief of exclusion: 'I am the I AM; my register is complete.' Feel the acceptance as if you have already been readmitted.
