Inner Walls Of Faith
Nehemiah 6:4-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Nehemiah 6 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Nehemiah faces repeated taunts and an open letter accusing him of rebellion; he stays steady in his divine mission rather than arguing with his critics.
Neville's Inner Vision
All through Nehemiah 6:4–6, the exterior noise—four messages, five presses, an open letter—reveals nothing but the restless habit of doubt trying to intimidate your focus. The speaker Sanballat and the others do not threaten you with war; they awaken the inner impulse to question your right to claim a secure city within. The wall Nehemiah builds is the symbol of a fixed state of consciousness, a steady assumption of order that cannot be toppled by rumor. Nehemiah answers in the same manner because he knows that the power to erect, sustain, and govern lies not in others' opinions but in the I AM that you are. The “king” they fear you will crown yourself with is simply your awareness crowned with faith; to be king is to live from Godward knowingness, not from the need for external approval. The inner scene does not change by debate; it changes by revision of the self into the truth that you are one with the divine. When opposition shouts, do not defend your structure; reaffirm your inner state, and let the outer events correspond to your unwavering inner decree.
