The Wall of Determined Prayer

Nehemiah 4:4-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Nehemiah 4 in context

Scripture Focus

4Hear, O our God; for we are despised: and turn their reproach upon their own head, and give them for a prey in the land of captivity:
5And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee: for they have provoked thee to anger before the builders.
6So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.
Nehemiah 4:4-6

Biblical Context

Nehemiah 4:4-6 shows the people crying out to God while resolutely continuing to rebuild the wall; they turn the reproach on their enemies and press forward with a mind to work.

Neville's Inner Vision

Here you are, the I AM hearing the cry of limitation and answering by turning reproach back into the very energy that builds your inner fortress. The wall is a state of consciousness, not mere stones; its joining is your decision to keep attention fixed on the goal. The reproach and the anger of outward circumstances disappear as you unify purpose, casting every doubt into the background by the steadfast mind to work. When you dwell in this inner scene, God’s action appears as your consistent assumption—the sense that the wall already stands, that the workers move, that the project is complete in consciousness. Your job is to persist in imagination until your inner sight matches the outer act. If you claim, 'I have built,' and feel it real, you align with the inner decree and the visible world follows.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the wall is already standing around your goal. For five minutes, feel the certainty of the builders and the completion of your project, then return to ordinary activity carrying the implicit feeling of completion.
