The Rod and the Wise Within

Micah 6:9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Micah 6 in context

Scripture Focus

9The LORD's voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.
Micah 6:9

Biblical Context

God’s voice calls out to the city, inviting the wise to know their true name. The rod appears as a divine instrument that disturbs and disciplines, guiding right action.

Neville's Inner Vision

I hear in this verse the truth that every outer cry is a manifestation of an inner state. The city is my entire mindedness, the inner climate I carry. The voice that cries is the I AM within me—awareness awake to itself—calling the wise part of me to remember its true name. See thy name means I recognize my real identity, I AM that I AM, the quality I am becoming. The rod is not punishment but a divinely appointed instrument of discipline that forces my attention back to alignment. I have drawn it through belief and focus; it exists to refine my inner sight so I may discern what I am called to do. When I accept the rod as love, not as judgment, resistance falls away and my actions flow in harmony with the vision of my higher self. Through this receptivity, my inner awareness grows and I see the hand of the Lord shaping my life.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit comfortably, declare I am the I AM, and hear the inner voice call out your true name. Revise a current challenge by accepting the rod as loving discipline guiding you to your higher self.
