Under Vine and Imagination
Micah 4:4-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Micah 4 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Micah foresees a time when people live in peace and security, each resting under their own vine and fig tree, free from fear, with restoration for those who have been scattered or afflicted.
Neville's Inner Vision
These lines reveal a present inner state rather than a distant promise. To sit under one’s vine and fig tree is to rest in the I AM, the consciousness that yields form and safety. Fear arises as thoughts of lack or danger, but it dissolves when you acknowledge the mouth of the LORD within—your own unerring awareness speaking truth into your world. The statement that all will walk in the name of their god points to the power of where you place your attention; by choosing the LORD your God, you align with a permanent, divine order. In that inner day, the halteth and afflicted parts of you are gathered and healed through inner alignment, not external circumstance. The restoration Micah promises is the natural outcome of a mind fully identified with its divine source, a mind that dwells in the present certainty of I AM. Practice this by maintaining consciousness in the noble state, letting outward appearances be revised by inner truth.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, dwell in the feeling of resting under your vine and fig tree, and silently affirm, 'I am the LORD my God.' Feel fear dissolve as you revise your world from this single, steady awareness.
