Destruction of Inner Idols

Micah 1:7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Micah 1 in context

Scripture Focus

7And all the graven images thereof shall be beaten to pieces, and all the hires thereof shall be burned with the fire, and all the idols thereof will I lay desolate: for she gathered it of the hire of an harlot, and they shall return to the hire of an harlot.
Micah 1:7

Biblical Context

Micah 1:7 speaks of the destruction and desolation that follow the smashing of idols built from false worship.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the inner realm, all the graven images are beliefs and pictures you have hire-purchased from the world. When you recognize that the false idols are but memory-images of security, status, or fear, their power dissolves as they are burned by the light of your I AM awareness. The desolation is not punishment but clearing; it makes room for true worship—losing reliance on appearances and turning inward to the creative I AM. By assuming the reality of your indispensable I AM presence, you revise the sense of self from a crowd of images to a single, living consciousness that animates every experience. Feel and act from that awareness, and the external symbols lose control, while inner obedience to the divine I AM becomes your new currency of life.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and imagine the idols of your life—images of success, safety, or approval—being broken and burned. Then declare, I AM, the sole reality, and feel that this inner shift is already done.
