Speak The Word Within

Matthew 8:8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Matthew 8 in context

Scripture Focus

8The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
Matthew 8:8

Biblical Context

Matthew 8:8 shows a centurion who, despite feeling unworthy, believes Jesus can heal with a single word; the healing comes through faith in the Word itself, not proximity.

Neville's Inner Vision

Observe the centurion's confession as a moment when a man steps beyond limitation and lets the Word fill the room of his mind. He says I am not worthy that Thou shouldest come under my roof; but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. The outer scene mirrors an inner truth: authority travels by word, not by distance. In Neville's terms, the kingdom of God is a state of consciousness, and the healing occurs when you align with that state. The Word Jesus speaks is the inner decree of the I AM you identify as, the flame at the center of your own awareness. Your servant your body, your condition, responds to the speech of this Word because the Word is the I AM commanding reality. When you harmonize with a sense of worthiness not born of ego but of alignment with the I AM, you need not seek a roof; you become the Word that creates. Healing then appears as a shift of your state, a change in belief that makes the outer scene mirror the inner decree.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and silently declare I am the I AM; in me the Word heals now. Then imagine a warm light filling your inner room and see the situation transformed as if the healing has already occurred.
